Glastonbury Gig Guide
W/C 4th January 2018

Welcome to the gig guide magazine for Glastonbury. We are so excited for 2018 with a fair bit to come this year the town is going to be working hard to capitalise on there being no Glastonbury Festival. This is going to be one bonkers year. Happy New Year to you all

Gig of the week

Friday 5th January

Nick Parker & The False Alarms with Paul Henshaw- Hawthorns Hotel

Nick Parker and the False Alarms Sometimes folky, sometimes rocky, sometimes country-y, Street-based Nick Parker and his actually quite ruly cohorts The False Alarms never take themselves too seriously. With their tongues seldom far from their cheeks they romp around the stage with guitars, fiddle, mandolin, bass, drums and loads of vocals providing a beautifully shabby backdrop for Nick's astutely written songs. With strong melodies and hooks throughout, the songs are laden with clever lyrics which are as easy-to-relate-to as they are quirky. Over the last couple of years Nick - with or without the band - has played at festivals such as Chagstock, Farmer Phil's, 2000Trees, Glastonbury and Lakefest as well as many smaller festivals and spends nearly all his time touring around Europe where he is on the German record label Tonetoaster.

Paul Henshaw Spent his life being a shouty singer and avoiding the dusty end of a fret board. Purveyor of RIOT FOLK

The Johnsons- The King Arthur
The Johnsons are a 5 piece (if we all turn up..) powerhouse of Blues and Rock performing songs by the Blues greats, the Stones, Cream, Hendrix, Kinks etc etc. The band includes Ian Johnson (drums), Julian Johnson (bass), Tony Johnson (rhythm guitar), Alan Johnson (lead guitar) and Trevor (I make Jon Bon Jovi look ugly) Johnson (lead vocal). We're guaranteed to raise a murmur of polite applause in any venue. Also because we're an attractive boy band there's something for the ladies too! We even have a 3 piece acoustic spin off AKA 'Wrong Direction' for those laid back occasions. Look forward to seeing you - The Johnsons!
